Printed in Atlanta, our RISO Folded Newspapers are designed for artists, galleries, nonprofits, publishers, and community organizations looking for a more art-forward approach to publication printing.
Risograph printing combines the layered, tactile aesthetics of screen printing with the efficiency of a photocopier. The result is vibrant spot color, subtle variation, and a distinct printed character that makes each edition feel more like a keepsake than a typical commercially printed publication.
Working with a local print studio also means a more collaborative production process. Every newspaper includes an in-person proofing session before the full edition is printed, giving us the opportunity to refine color, registration, and overall feel together. With flexible minimums, local pickup, and direct access to the printer throughout production, RISO can be a surprisingly economical option for editions ranging from a few hundred copies to several thousand.

Choose the maximum number of ink colors used together during printing.
Your newspaper can use many different ink colors throughout the publication. The selected option simply determines the maximum number of colors used together on any one printed sheet. Each printed sheet can have its own unique color combination, allowing the palette to change throughout the newspaper while staying within your selected production level.
For example, a 3-color newspaper might use Black, Aqua, and Fluorescent Pink on one printed sheet, then Orange, Violet, and Black on the next.

This product is designed around RISO's natural print margins, allowing the newspaper to remain untrimmed while keeping production efficient. Full-bleed artwork, trimming, binding, specialty papers, and other custom production options are available by quote.
If you're designing the publication yourself, we'll provide a page imposition guide after booking and review your files before printing to ensure everything is set up for successful production.
Need help with the design? Posy Press also offers editorial design and RISO-specific file preparation. Bringing us into the process early allows us to build decisions around margins, color separations, image treatment, and print sequencing into the publication from the start.
Most newspaper editions are completed within 2–4 weeks after final file approval and proof approval, depending on quantity, complexity, and our production schedule.
